Job Summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Occupations Investigator I to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting confidential investigations of complaints lodged against licensed/certified practitioners for fraud, misconduct, incompetencies, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and confidential investigations of complaints lodged against licensed/certified practitioners
  • Prepare detailed reports of investigative findings
  • Investigate persons applying for licensure
  • Plan and execute investigations according to State of Maryland, Maryland Department of Health, and Board regulations and policies
Requirements
  • Three years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings or professional level experience in a health or legal field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience editing and reviewing reports
  • Experience preparing reports for stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience applying investigative techniques
