Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and maintaining a positive and professional kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Line check and ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients.
  • Maintain a professional kitchen environment and lead by example.
  • Execute and maintain prep and dish recipes, with a focus on seasonal offerings.
  • Work closely with management to create a memorable experience for guests.
  • Ensure plate presentation meets the highest standards and exceeds guest expectations.
  • Train, coach, and inspire BOH team members to achieve exceptional results.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, ordering, inventory management, and control.
  • Schedule and onboard new team members.
  • Implement food waste control measures.
  • Coordinate food and kitchenware needs.

Requirements

  • Culinary Arts degree preferred.
  • Two years of BOH management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
  • Technology savvy, with proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps/programs, and Aloha.
  • Exemplary knife skills and ability to coach/train others.
  • Demonstrated success in managing people and strong leadership skills.
  • English proficient, bi-lingual a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, hourly position, working a 40-hour week, plus 7.5 hours of scheduled overtime.
