Job Title: Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Maverick Corporation. As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our growing engineering team in the design and development of large-scale networks in the telecommunications and electrical engineering fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support in the design and engineering efforts of large-scale fiberoptic deployments
  • Create and provide quality control services for deliverables in the form of Permit Drawings, Bill of Materials, Construction Maps, Splice Sheets, and Single Line Diagrams
  • Incorporate client and vendor specifications into engineering designs
  • Coordinate with management, GIS, and other team members to ensure all drawings comply with industry, local jurisdiction, and client standards
  • Provide technical support to project managers and other team members
  • Update and maintain, as necessary, existing hard copy design drawings and convert existing hard copy drawings to electronic versions
  • Research and incorporate client and jurisdiction specifications into permit drawings
  • Produce and utilize QA/QC checklists that follow permitting jurisdiction requirements
  • Upload/submit deliverables for client or jurisdiction review
  • Maintain spreadsheets to track permit submissions
  • All other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
  • Creative and analytical mind with a willingness to learn
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing work environment
  • Highly flexible in daily duties and level of responsibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Associates or Bachelor Degree in engineering, computer science, GIS, or other related field OR comparable professional experience
  • Strong engineering skills preferred
  • 2+ Years of experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ArcMap, and 3GIS is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel and/or similar spreadsheet applications
  • Previous utility engineering experience is a plus
  • Permitting or GIS experience is a plus
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements
