About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in New England. As a Bridge Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing bridges and other related structural elements, working closely with our team of enthusiastic bridge engineers to complete bridge designs from Preliminary Structures Reports through the development of PS&E documents and construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing bridges and other related structural elements
  • Understanding and applying technical codes and engineering practices related to bridge design
  • Working with a team of bridge engineers to complete bridge designs
  • Building solid relationships with inter-departmental teams
  • Understanding and working within schedules and budgets to ensure contractual obligations for structural elements
  • Performing calculations in accordance with the MassDOT Bridge Design Manual, AASHTO design standards, and other requirements
Requirements
  • BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree a plus)
  • Massachusetts State PE or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
  • 4+ years of experience working in the bridge design profession
  • Proficiency in current industry software, including AutoCAD and AASHTOWare required; Bentley Open Bridge, MicroStation and MDX desired
  • Working knowledge of LRFD Bridge Design Codes
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • MassDOT experience preferred
