The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the restaurant in the absence of the Food & Beverage Outlet Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring that guests receive an exceptional dining experience through the consistent delivery of high-quality service and adherence to operational protocols.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and uphold the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Ensure service excellence as outlined in the service standards manual.
  • Manage the restaurant environment in accordance with the directives of the outlet manager.
  • Address guest feedback promptly, collaborating with culinary and beverage teams as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all operational rules and regulations.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities as assigned by the outlet manager, including disciplinary actions and scheduling.
  • Assist in supervising and directing restaurant staff daily, including station assignments and attendance tracking.
  • Order necessary supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels for food and beverages.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu offerings and be familiar with various culinary styles.
  • Be prepared to perform all roles within the department, including serving and hosting.
  • Stay informed about contemporary dietary requirements and food safety regulations.
  • Availability to work various shifts as required by the outlet.
  • Maintain labor costs within the parameters set by the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Support the manager in preparing weekly and monthly forecasts.
  • Submit maintenance requests and address equipment shortages as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions on menu and service standards.
  • Lead daily pre-shift meetings to align team objectives.
  • Manage inventory of china, silverware, and glassware.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is accountable for the overall management of the restaurant in the absence of the Food & Beverage Outlet Manager. This role includes responsibilities for hiring, employee relations, budgeting, and forecasting.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: A high school diploma or equivalent; or three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience is necessary to perform this role effectively.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position necessitates the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety guidelines and operational manuals. Additionally, effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to interpret data such as rates and ratios is required.

REASONING ABILITY: The role demands the ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and solve practical problems.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Gaming Class A License
  • Food Handlers License or Serve Safe Certification
  • TIPS Certification or equivalent
