Position Overview – Director of Safety:
Join Atlantic Group in a pivotal role as the Director of Safety. This full-time position is tasked with spearheading the creation, execution, and management of extensive safety initiatives and programs, ensuring the protection and welfare of employees, clients, and the community.
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000/year
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Safety:
- Leadership in Safety Programs: Formulate and implement thorough safety programs, policies, and procedures to comply with regulatory standards and industry benchmarks.
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Direct efforts to maintain adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Audit and Inspection Management: Establish a system for monitoring and reporting safety audits and inspections, compile results, and ensure necessary corrective actions are executed.
- Data Oversight: Administer online data systems for contractor and customer prequalification and compliance management.
- Training and Development Initiatives: Create and implement safety training programs for all staff, incorporating safety training into onboarding and ongoing professional development.
- Incident Investigation: Supervise the analysis of safety incidents, determine root causes, and propose preventive strategies.
- Fleet Safety Oversight: Ensure that vehicles and equipment adhere to safety standards, implement fleet safety protocols, and monitor driver safety practices.
- Continuous Safety Improvement: Promote ongoing enhancement of safety performance through regular assessment and refinement of safety procedures.
Qualifications for the Director of Safety:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior safety leadership capacity, ideally within an industrial or construction setting.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and pertinent safety standards.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities with a capacity to work autonomously and prioritize effectively.
- Fleet Management Experience: Proven experience in managing fleet safety and utilizing fleet management systems.
