Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team at SMS Holdings. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our commercial building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors.
  • Clean and maintain rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
  • Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Dust furniture and equipment to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Polish metalwork to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Work Environment

As a Facilities Maintenance Associate, you will work in a fast-paced commercial environment with occasional exposure to high places and fumes or airborne particles. You will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. You will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
  • No prior experience or training is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
