Position Overview

Organization: SAY – Social Advocates for Youth

Under the guidance of the SAY Director and/or Coalition Coordinator, the SAY Intern plays a vital role in delivering services within suburban middle and high schools as well as in the broader community. The focus of these services is on prevention rather than treatment, encompassing a comprehensive range of preventive initiatives. These include individualized support, crisis management for students, educational outreach in classrooms and communities, small group interventions, and peer-led prevention activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct brief individual interventions with students.
  • Facilitate classroom presentations on relevant topics.
  • Assist in the organization and planning of community outreach events.
  • Support peer-led prevention meetings and activities.
  • Participate in community collaborative meetings.
  • Engage in SAY Collaborative meetings.
  • Co-facilitate educational group sessions.
  • Complete tasks associated with grant-funded initiatives.
  • Engage in parent-focused prevention meetings.
