Job Summary

NY CREATES is seeking a highly skilled Metrology Services SEM/FIB/TEM Technician to join its team in the 300mm semiconductor development facilities. This position is responsible for off-line SEM/TEM & FIB characterization analysis of structures and devices fabricated on 300mm Si wafers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate SEM, FIB, and TEM instruments for analytical work, ensuring effective day-to-day operation and maintenance.
  • Perform SEM analysis on samples submitted by partners and customers, providing clear and prompt communication of results.
  • Prepare samples for FIB-SEM and FIB analysis, as well as TEM analysis, utilizing expertise in materials and structures.
  • Communicate effectively with requestors to understand analysis requirements and report results in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize work when queued with multiple requests, ensuring timely communication of analysis results.
  • Maintain analysis queue database reporting according to ISO procedures.
  • Participate in technology group meetings to advise on metrology techniques and contribute to the development of new procedures.
  • Work to minimize turnaround time for all SEM, FIB, and TEM jobs, ensuring maximum tool uptime.
  • Monitor and maintain SEM/FIB/TEM tools, expanding capabilities by developing additional sample preparation procedures.
  • Maintain contact with other on-site F/A group to utilize additional equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in an engineering or science-related discipline from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • At least 6 years of semiconductor industry or research and development experience, with a working knowledge of process tools or modules required to build advanced CMOS devices.
  • Proficiency in computers and IT infrastructure, including manufacturing execution system applications, project planning, and forward thinking for contributing to process solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to execute a variety of tasks on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related discipline from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • 4+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a metrology, SEM/FIB/TEM, or FA technician.
  • Hands-on experience with SEM instrument operation, including sample preparation by cleaving or FIB, and experience with FIB sample-prep for TEM and TEM analysis.
