Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pathologist to serve as the Director of Apheresis and Assistant Director of Transfusion Services at Seattle Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patients and donors undergoing apheresis procedures, providing prompt evaluation and treatment during oversight of apheresis procedures, and conducting educational programs for staff and trainees about apheresis procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of patients and donors undergoing apheresis procedures
  • Provide prompt evaluation and treatment during oversight of apheresis procedures
  • Conduct educational programs for staff and trainees about apheresis procedures
  • Implement and identify areas for process improvement as part of apheresis program quality management plan
  • Contribute to the hospital's academic mission
  • Meet criteria for UWSOM faculty appointment
Requirements
  • MD/DO degree
  • Board eligibility or certification in Clinical Pathology
  • Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children's
  • Faculty appointment at the University of Washington
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three (3) years clinical experience in Pediatric Apheresis
  • Training in an accredited postgraduate medical education program which includes apheresis
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $236,000 - $354,557 per year. Seattle Children's offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 403(b), life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
