Job Title: Director of Psychological and Wellness Services

University of Washington Tacoma is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Psychological and Wellness Services. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping the university's mental health services and promoting student well-being.

Job Summary:

The Director of Psychological and Wellness Services will provide leadership and oversight for the university's mental health services, including counseling, health promotion, and health education. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, experience in leadership and administration, and a commitment to serving a diverse student population.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the university's mental health services, including counseling, health promotion, and health education.
  • Supervise a team of licensed psychologists, health promotion specialists, and other staff members.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the provision of mental health services.
  • Collaborate with other university departments and community organizations to promote student well-being and mental health.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for doctoral interns and advanced doctoral practicum students.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Minimum of five years of professional clinical experience, including at least three years in a college or university counseling center.
  • Experience in leadership and administration, including supervising professional staff and trainees.
  • Strong research and database management skills.
  • Experience with electronic health record management and scheduling systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and training of postdoctoral permanent staff, postdoctoral residents, doctoral interns, and doctoral practicum students.
  • Active engagement in professional associations related to higher education student mental health and clinical services.
