Position: IT Technician (Technology Support Specialist I)

Hourly Rate: $26.29

OVERVIEW: This role encompasses both technical and administrative responsibilities associated with the upkeep and assistance of computer software, hardware, and telecommunications systems for the community of students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Manchester Community College (MCC). The individual in this position will provide online and remote helpdesk assistance across all CCSNH colleges and will report directly to the CCSNH Regional College IT Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver Help Desk support to faculty, staff, and students regarding personal computer hardware, networks, operating systems, and software applications, including access to essential systems such as the Learning Management System and Student Information Systems.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues related to printers and other campus devices.
  • Assist in the management and upkeep of computers within the campus networks, including the setup of new hardware, software installation and updates, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Provide remote assistance for all CCSNH colleges through an online ticketing system for various functions such as MFA, password resets, and general login or browser issues.
  • Support the management of user connections to the local area network and aid in troubleshooting server and email system connections.
  • Evaluate user issues and training needs, collaborating with other IT staff to formulate recommendations for training updates or modifications.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation for all help desk processes and procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating and supporting IT requirements for special events on and off campus for college departments and external guests.
  • Collaborate with college-wide and Chancellor's Office IT personnel.
  • Adhere to all system, college, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical institution.

Experience: Not mandatory. Each additional year of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of formal education.

Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Preferred Qualifications: An associate's degree in information technology is desirable.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Familiarity with systematic problem-solving principles and information processing fundamentals. Knowledge of current computer hardware and software. Ability to produce oral and written reports. Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and personnel from user agencies. Must present an appearance suitable for assigned duties as determined by management.
