About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our avionics team, you will play a critical role in the development and operations of our New Glenn orbital launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop high-reliability FPGA solutions for our New Glenn flight avionics.
  • Generate FPGA level requirements documents and develop FPGA design documentation.
  • Use SystemVerilog to code FPGA designs and leverage FPGA synthesis and place-and-route tools to target designs to Xilinx and Microchip FPGAs.
  • Participate in reviews and contribute to a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a digital design focus.
  • 5+ years FPGA/ASIC design experience.
  • Strong SystemVerilog/Verilog design skill.
  • Experience designing, developing high-performance FPGA or ASIC solutions for use in highly integrated (SW and HW) systems.
  • Full product life cycle development experience - from requirements development through final release.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, strong interpersonal team skills; organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be comfortable working in Linux and shell scripting.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with DO-254 and/or other development assurance guidelines.
  • Exposure to fault-tolerant, high-reliability, safety-critical, robust, radiation-tolerant FPGA-based solution development for space-based avionics systems.
  • Familiarity with MPSoCs, AXI / AXIS, Xilinx, SmartFusion2.
  • Experience with Modelsim, or Questasim and Synopsys, Vivado, Libero.
  • Basic programming and scripting skills with Python.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $153,636.00-$215,090.40, depending on location. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
