About the Role

At SunSource, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Control Panel Assembler to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a critical role in assembling electrical control panels, junction boxes, and wire harnesses for industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical control panels, junction boxes, and wire harnesses according to specifications.
  • Fabricate controls according to specifications, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel and wiring of all components.
  • Determine dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures.
  • Mount components to back panels and enclosures.
  • Route and bundle wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
  • Point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, interfaces, and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions.
  • Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication.
  • Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-year technical degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience assembling electrical panels is preferred.
  • Ability to read control system wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use simple math.
  • Ability to interpret documents.
  • Ability to convert metric to standard measurement.
  • Ability to convert degrees to inches.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
  • Proficient in the use of measuring equipment, levels, squares, and various hand tools.
