Project Executive - Mechanical

Highland Consulting Group is an Executive Recruiting firm that specializes in placing top talent in the Commercial and Industrial construction sectors.

We are working with one of the largest and most prestigious mechanical contractors in the Columbus, OH area with an immediate need for a Project Executive. This position is an integral part of the leadership team, which is responsible for all aspects of the company performance from business development and client relations to operations and finance. This position reports directly to Sr Management and manages multiple Project Managers. This is a senior role with great possibilities to help mentor the project manager team

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project managers to ensure successful project delivery and profitability.
  • Mentor, motivate, and oversee the development of project management staff.
  • Oversee and review financial budgets and costs on open projects.
  • Ensure contractual commitments are met and performed professionally.
  • Manage company resources, including support personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee project close-out, including punch list inspections and review of punch lists with relevant subcontractors.
  • Assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with past clients for repeat business.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take decisive action to achieve project closeouts while maintaining positive team relations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong command of contract and legal provisions impacting profitability.
  • Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
  • Proven record of career stability and project management success, with 10 years of experience as a Project Manager with a Mechanical contractor and experience managing Project Managers.
  • A four-year degree is required, with Engineering or an equivalent discipline preferred. A Master's degree in business or Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Judgment to know when to escalate issues up or step in to help solve a problem.
  • Travel, regional work - little to no travel.
