Job Summary

Thorlabs is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth receipt, storage, and distribution of goods in our warehouse and production setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Stocking: Accurately and efficiently receive goods at time of delivery, checking received goods against documentation and aiding in unloading the delivery vehicle.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all products requiring incoming inspection are directed to the appropriate personnel and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Inventory Movement: Frequently move inventory in a timely manner from one location to another, using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and freight elevators as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate with buyers or planners to rectify problems such as damage, overages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
  • Customer Service: Maintain an excellent track record of superior customer service in cooperating with internal and external customers.
  • Subcontracting Services: Coordinate the subcontracting of services for the shop, including confirming incoming and outgoing parts for anodizing, splitting/revising production orders, and maintaining a parts list of products being shipped each day.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of warehouse distribution or receiving experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Axapta; strong attention to detail; strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.
