Position Overview:

As a Licensed Physical Therapist at Potomac Healthcare Solutions, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients across various medical specialties. Your expertise will support patient referrals from Orthopedics, General Medicine, Surgery, Primary Care, Rheumatology, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement therapeutic procedures and provide comprehensive therapy services to meet the needs of patients.
  • Ensure safe and timely patient care by developing realistic treatment goals in collaboration with the referring medical staff.
  • Administer a variety of treatments utilizing advanced equipment, including game ready units, blood flow restriction devices, mechanical traction, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound machines. Continuously evaluate treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols for home continuation. Assess, fit, and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed.
  • Document treatment plans and discharge recommendations for staff in routine, emergency, and special cases.
  • Provide clinical guidance to assistants, technicians, and students.
  • Contribute to rehabilitation team meetings, seminars, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Engage in peer review activities to enhance service quality.
  • For those assigned to the Pain Management Department, additional responsibilities include:
    • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal care for patients experiencing pain.
    • Participating in designated tele-mentoring training programs.
    • Engaging in telemedicine and tele-consultations.
    • Performing clerical and scheduling tasks to support clinic operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (preferred) OR Master's degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2016 OR Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.
  • Proof of professional development through continuing education within the last twenty-four (24) months.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist within the preceding two (2) years OR graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program within the last year.
  • Active Physical Therapist license.
