Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Personal Banker II Float to join our team at Southern Bank. As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for expanding and retaining customer relationships by proactively meeting with customers to discover their financial needs and provide product and service recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build new customer relationships through frequent interactions and proactive contact.
  • Participate in a welcoming lobby experience, working with or directing customers to an appropriate team member based on their identified needs.
  • Promote teamwork in the float branches and in the branches when floating to ensure a positive overall customer experience.
  • Assist, train, and mentor all branch retail staff by being their primary point of contact for the region.
  • Define and offer solutions to resolve problems, and resolve more complex customer issues.
  • Identify financial needs of customers and present all appropriate product and service options.
  • Proactively educate customers on utilizing available access channels.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, and Regulation E.
  • Maintain proficiency in bank products and services, such as internet banking, bill pay, and mobile banking.
  • Take ownership of the customer experience, including opening accounts with other products conveyed to the customer and resolving service issues as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Three years of experience in a banking or financial services role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of the Bank's products and services.
  • Proficient in business products, such as cash management and remote deposit capture.
  • Demonstrated positive and helpful attitude toward both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under high stress situations.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to use effective communication skills and speak clearly to customers, employees, and supervisors.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
