Key Responsibilities
- Attend to the personal, physical, and emotional needs of participants in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide essential personal care and mobility assistance, including help with bathing, grooming, and transportation.
- Assist in meal service and clean-up, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for participants.
- Monitor and record vital signs, maintaining accurate health records in compliance with required timeframes.
- Facilitate transportation for participants to medical appointments and activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for participants.
- Set up and lead recreational activities, fostering engagement and interaction among participants.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and participate in care conferences.
- Report any potential issues to the Program Director or Managers that may affect service quality.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols in all tasks.
Additional Responsibilities for Backup Drivers
Provide safe and competent transportation services, ensuring compliance with driving regulations and maintaining a clean driving record. Demonstrate the ability to operate a wheelchair transport vehicle and be prepared to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary for participant safety.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- Ability to assist with lifting participants and operate equipment safely.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Demonstrated interest in geriatric care and commitment to participant well-being.
- Must pass a physical examination and meet health guidelines before engaging in direct contact with participants.
