Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both residents and staff is our utmost priority. We appreciate the dedication of our associates and the support from our residents and their families as we navigate challenges together, including those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address the personal, physical, and emotional needs of participants in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide essential support in various settings, including assistance with personal care, mobility, and therapy: aiding with bathing, grooming, dressing, and transfers.
- Assist in meal service and clean-up, as well as distribute snacks and nourishment at the Adult Day Center.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight in the Electronic Health Record.
- Facilitate transportation for participants to medical appointments and activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for participants.
- Set up and operate recreational and health-related equipment; lead activities such as games and discussions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Report any concerns that may affect the quality of care provided.
- Foster professional relationships with all staff members and maintain confidentiality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities for Backup Drivers:
Provide safe and reliable transportation services to participants, ensuring compliance with driving policies and maintaining a clean driving record. Demonstrate the ability to operate a wheelchair transport vehicle and be willing to extend working hours when necessary for participant safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- Ability to assist with lifting participants and operate equipment safely.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Must pass a physical examination and be medically cleared for communicable diseases.
- Completion of medication administration program and competency exam (if applicable).
