Submarine Radar Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Submarine Radar Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide technical evaluation and perform corrective actions for Virginia Class AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems in accordance with DoD and Navy Maintenance Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in various engineering tasks, including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.
- Install, monitor, and service SWFTS Tech-Insertion & APB cycle of AN/BVY ISIS & AN/BPS radar systems at various Naval locations.
- Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, and certification tasks.
- Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems.
- Review change proposals for equipment impacts.
- Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
- Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
- Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
- Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Five (5) years of practical experience with a High School Diploma/GED or three (3) years of experience with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science.
- Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.
- Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
- Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess knowledge and experience across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
- Graduate of ISIS maintenance course A.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.
