Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Submarine Machinery Mechanic to join our team at Delphinus Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining submarine machinery and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, repair, and overhaul of submarine machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct system or component level inspections as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Assist welders and pipefitters with fit up and installation of structural and piping components.
  • Perform installation, repair, and overhaul in accordance with Technical Work Documents and associated drawings.
  • Document inspections and work performed in both the Technical Work Document and on associated Objective Quality Evidence Forms.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and Precision Measuring Instruments to perform maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical/equipment installation, repair, and overhaul on US Naval vessels.
  • Submarine experience and experience with SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, and/or LEVEL I systems and components is preferred.
  • Experience and working knowledge of utilizing hand tools, power tools, and Precision Measuring Instruments.
  • Experience working in shipyards and ship repair environments.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret Technical Work Documents and drawings.
  • Physical demands of the job include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • US Citizenship and ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and a Drug Screen are required.
  • Current SECRET Level Security Clearance is required.
