Terminal Operations Leader

Position Overview:

The Head Terminal Operator is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the secure and efficient operations of terminal maintenance and activities associated with the receipt, storage, and distribution of various products.

This position entails providing guidance to fellow Terminal Operators or independently managing full maintenance and operational duties at terminals without on-site exempt supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive terminal records, including Stock Control, Waste Management, Regulatory Compliance, Additive Tracking, Internal Controls, Payroll, Personnel Scheduling, and Driver Reports.
  • Conduct Inventory Reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Plan and organize work schedules to fulfill commitments for product shipments, collaborating effectively with supply schedulers and transporters.
  • Ensure adherence to all operational procedures, requirements, and Safe Work Practices by all personnel accessing the facilities.
  • Perform inspections and maintenance to uphold proper operational standards and environmental integrity, initiating corrective actions, arranging repairs, and leading preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Oversee activities in the tank yard and Tank Truck Loading Rack (TTLR) areas, including gauging tanks, draining water, switching tanks, discharging stormwater, sealing meters, and conducting daily inspections.
  • Manage blending, sampling, and testing of products to meet specifications, while monitoring and maintaining necessary equipment and documentation.
  • Provide training and mentorship to employees on terminal operations, covering procedures, equipment, and annual training requirements.
  • Execute various terminal tasks that may arise within the scope of a Head Terminal Operator's responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant/Terminal Operations.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and performing mechanical maintenance repairs.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, on-call shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary to support terminal operations and respond to emergencies.
  • Ability to meet all physical job requirements, including climbing stairs and working at heights exceeding 20 feet, as well as lifting weights of 30-35 pounds.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new computer-based training packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in Plant/Terminal Operations is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical understanding.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and both internal and external clients.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience operating advanced fuel automation and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organizational abilities.

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered for qualified candidates.
