Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cognizant Systems Engineer to join our team at the PULSE Complex, an underground nuclear facility located within the Forward Areas of the NNSS. As a Cognizant Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining overall cognizance of assigned facility systems, providing cognizant system engineering support for operations and maintenance, and technical support of line management safety responsibilities for ensuring continued system operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate physical configuration of assigned systems and maintain and update system documents for Configuration Management (CM).
  • Understand the functions and performance criteria for assigned systems per the Safety Basis and act as the subject matter expert for assigned systems.
  • Participate in overseeing the In-service-Inspection and Technical Surveillance Requirement execution of assigned systems.
  • Identify and help implement the technical requirements for maintaining systems, structures, and components.
  • Perform assessments of assigned systems and report system health status to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) required for Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering degrees.
  • Or, Calculus-based STEM bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Or, for Architects, Certification from the National Council or Architectural Registration Board (NCARB).
  • Or Professional Engineer license.
  • Plus at least 2 years' relevant experience.

MSTS offers a competitive salary range of $79,000 to $119,100.80, depending on education and experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a pension, and a 401(k) plan. Additionally, we offer paid time off, 96 hours of paid holidays, relocation assistance, tuition reimbursement, and more.
