Job Summary

This is a challenging role for a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. As a Senior Systems Engineer - Distribution Automation, you will be responsible for providing application support to critical information systems utilized by Electrical Engineering and the Control Centers. You will also design, implement, and maintain databases, displays, and applications related to the distribution automation systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide application support to critical information systems utilized by Electrical Engineering and the Control Centers.
- Design, implement, and maintain databases, displays, and applications related to the distribution automation systems and processes.
- Work with vendors and evaluate new systems for inclusion into operations and engineering platforms.
- Manage installation of vendor products and support and maintain vendor packages in production.
- Perform high-level applications testing for technology upgrades as necessary.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Any Discipline and 2 years work experience with Information Technology or Associate's Degree in Any Discipline and 4 years work experience with Information Technology or High School Diploma/GED in Any Discipline and 6 years work experience with Information Technology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers, support staff, and various levels of management.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in team situations and be willing and able to lead and participate in cross-functional teams as required.
- Familiarity with database structures and queries and one or more object-oriented programming languages (C#, Python, Java, VB).

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of MS-SQL, MS-Access, Oracle, PI, eDNA, or ODBC.
- Experience manipulating text files and in python scripting.
- Experience with real-time control system applications and big data analytics.
- Experience with digital mapping systems (GIS).
