SIMEDHealth is seeking a skilled Telephone Operator to provide exceptional customer service and support to our patients and staff. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing patients to the appropriate extension, and providing general customer service information.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. Bilingual/Spanish speaking representatives are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and direct patients to the appropriate extension
- Provide general customer service information, including office directions and operating hours
- Verify patient information, update as needed, and document healthcare information electronically
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and work with an electronic fax server
- Review provider schedules and hospital consults
- Assist with directing new patient calls to the new patient coordinator
- Retrieve voicemail messages and return calls as needed
- Observe patient and staff safety policies and procedures, including HIPAA
