Position Summary:

The Equipment Engineer will play a pivotal role in the initiation, development, and enhancement of Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) equipment. This position is crucial for improving product quality, driving yield enhancements, reducing costs, boosting productivity, and managing risks while addressing manufacturing line challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment-related issues utilizing methodologies such as failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC.
  • Lead equipment and material evaluations to implement process improvements.
  • Participate in yield enhancement and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Oversee new equipment qualifications and collaborate with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and risk mitigation goals.
  • Monitor the performance of assigned equipment to ensure optimal output and develop contingency plans for potential bottlenecks.
Safety and Quality Commitment:

Safety and quality are paramount in this role. Responsibilities include completing safety training and adhering to safety policies. Proactive identification and resolution of safety issues are essential to minimize personal injuries and environmental impacts.

Collaboration and Communication:

Effective collaboration with various teams is necessary to achieve operational excellence. This includes working closely with suppliers, process owners, and technicians to address issues that may affect yield, defects, or output.

Technical and Data Analysis:

Analyze data to inform critical decisions and support cost reduction initiatives. Provide troubleshooting assistance for complex issues and maintain consistency in machine hardware and software.

Project Management:

Engage with equipment owners to prioritize and execute projects, ensuring completion within scope, schedule, and budget. Track progress and provide solutions to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications:

Required: AAS in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience. Preferred: BS in an Engineering-related field.
