Mixology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mixology Specialist to join our team at Visitation Hotel Frederick, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. As a Mixology Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a variety of drinks and demonstrating a passion for mixology by creating unique cocktails or new recipes for our guests.

• Train and mentor other bartenders to ensure exceptional service standards.
• Interact with customers, take orders for drinks and snacks, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Plan and present bar menus that showcase our signature cocktails and drinks.
• Check identification of guests to ensure they meet age requirements for purchasing alcohol products.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks as ordered and in compliance with hotel standards.
• Service wine and beer to guests, and arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.
• Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations accordingly.
• Sell or influence others to upsell and suggest additional drinks and services.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a friendly and helpful experience for all guests.
• Keep the bar counter and work area clean and organized at all times.
• Determine when a guest has had too much to drink and refuse further service in a polite manner.
• Maintain liquor inventory and consumption levels.
• Coordinate beverage orders with the storeroom clerk.
• Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
• Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standards.
• Prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
• Stay focused on providing an excellent guest experience.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of bartending or mixology experience.
• Bartending certificate preferred.
• TIPS certification a plus.
• Food Sanitation certificate a plus, required within 90 days of employment.

• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching.
