Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Management Professional to join our team at the Great Lakes Water Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Planning Services area with the development, implementation, and management of the enterprise-wide asset management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the development of asset management programs to ensure the effective management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Develop and review repair and replacement decisions for water and wastewater infrastructure based on condition information and performance data.
  • Support risk assessments and other analyses, including reliability-centered design, risk-based inspection, and Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis.
  • Assist in the development, interpretation, and maintenance of performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of asset management programs.
  • Review engineering plans for plant improvements or expansions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the implementation and use of asset management and work management software programs, including serving as a power user and/or trainer for key Asset Management related software.
  • Stay current with industry trends by participating in educational opportunities and professional/community organizations.
  • Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties.
  • Prepare and present status reports to management as needed.
  • Respond to all requests for project information.
  • Coordinate meetings and tasks with other units across the organization.
  • Perform related work duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related operational area, such as engineering or applied science.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a specialty designation area, preferably in a municipal or public utility setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or applied science.
  • Experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of a process facility.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in design, engineering, maintenance, or operations of a process facility (water, wastewater, refining, chemical processing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of maintenance and engineering practices, including computerized maintenance management software.
  • Knowledge of plant engineering software, such as SCADA and/or process modeling software.
Other Requirements
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License.
  • May be required to provide own vehicle for transportation on a reimbursed mileage basis.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, commute to GLWA facilities and work sites.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in team offices, and closely with all staffing levels.
