Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Analyst to join our team at the Great Lakes Water Authority. As a key member of our Planning Services Area, you will be responsible for developing and executing projects and business case evaluations through metering, modeling, data collection, and data analysis. Your expertise will support operations through the meaningful use of data, and you will assist in the development of capital forecasting, asset probability indices, and asset impact indices through collaboration with asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures consistent with best practices, federal, state, and local laws
  • Achieve operational efficiencies by forecasting requirements, contributing information, and presenting recommendations
  • Identify and implement process improvements, team member training needs, provide on-the-job training, and new technology
  • Analyze variances and initiate corrective actions needed to ensure timely completion of assigned projects
  • Prepare and generate documentation to support audit requirements
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data analysis for water billing and sewer shares
  • Conduct studies like system water audit, units of service for GLWA's non-master metered members, and system non-revenue water
  • Support the Director and/or Manager with administrative duties, team coordination, and communications
  • Provide analyses, performance indicators, and reports for the management team, board, committees, and all other stakeholders
  • Stay current with industry trends by participating in educational opportunities and professional/community organizations
  • Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties
  • Prepare and present status reports to management as needed
  • Respond to all requests for project information
  • Coordinate meetings and tasks with other units across the organization
  • Develop, install, test, and monitor systems including software applications, conversions, and upgrades monitoring
  • Perform related work duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related operational area
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a specialty designation area preferably in a municipal or public utility setting
