Job Title: Grounds Technician

ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking a skilled Grounds Technician to support our customer located at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary:

The Grounds Technician will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property, including improved, semi-improved, and unimproved areas. This role requires a high level of physical activity, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair fencing, including chain link and barbed wire.
  • Perform storm drainage cleanup and tumbleweed removal.
  • Shovel and dirt work as necessary.
  • Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other foliage.
  • Conduct salting and sanding of parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
  • Assist in deploying security measures, including barrier, cones, and other traffic control equipment.
  • Drive a gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, pull out objects embedded in the ground, or pull cable to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment.
  • Adjust tractor equipment for proper operation, lubricate, and make minor repairs.
  • Plan and execute small-scale landscaping operations.
  • Assist with special event set-ups and teardowns, including maintaining distinguished visitor routes to contractual standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three to six months of prior grounds experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hands and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in the field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
  • Demonstrated skill in the care and use of tools and equipment in the trades involved.
  • Experienced and trained to fasten attachments onto graders, plows, rollers, mowers, backhoes, seeders, and disc harrows to tractors.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
  • US citizenship and current possession or ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of irrigation and functions regarding water-delivery and backflow prevention.
  • Experience working in a government environment.
