Job Summary

Holiday Diver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the overall operation of our dive store, including sales generation and tracking, outstanding guest satisfaction, employee management and development, merchandising and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Generation and Tracking: Manage and meet sales goals for self and associates, ensuring customer service standards are met and resolving complex issues.
  • Employee Management and Development: Recruit, train, develop and communicate with all staff, assessing performance on a regular basis and providing coaching as necessary.
  • Merchandising and Inventory Control: Assist with merchandising functions, track inventory levels, and verify all shipments.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete some administrative tasks, including ensuring security and maintenance of the store.
  • Compressor Maintenance: Provide compressor maintenance following company-sponsored training.
  • Scuba Dive Operations: Fill cylinders and conduct inspections following company-sponsored training.
  • Adhere to Company Policies: Ensure all company policies, procedures, and practices are followed.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years retail sales or related experience.
  • Certified Scuba Diver or Dive Instructor highly desirable.
  • Experience or strong interest in paddling, kayaking, freediving, and other water sports highly desirable for product and activity knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong visual and conceptual merchandising skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Overall understanding of personal computer operation.
  • Must be available to travel to and assist at other stores as needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by retail needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Position requires employee to work on his/her feet 100% of the time.
  • Ability to bend and squat.
  • Ability to lift/carry 40+ pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to access all areas of the store.
  • Ability to read, write, count, and do basic arithmetic.
