Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Heavy Industrial Systems team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in improving process efficiencies and robustness, addressing assembly ergonomic concerns, and designing work holding and test fixtures. Your technical expertise and change management skills will be essential in supporting our electro-mechanical assembly team of associate owners.

Key Responsibilities

Process Optimization - Utilize advanced Lean/6-sigma practices to drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste. Lead teams to identify, prioritize, and execute projects to enhance product flow through the value stream.

Safety & Ergonomics - Engineer solutions to resolve safety & ergonomic risks. Develop safety procedures and integrate them into production processes. Participate in injury investigations and drive Safety Track cause/risks to closure aggressively.

Technical Support - Provide daily support to production teams for technical issues that arise. Manage capital expenditures and equipment to support production of current and future products.

Quality Assurance - Ensure production area processes operate within quality metrics. Identify trends in quality performance and execute root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Address customer corrective action requests for field product quality issues.

Process Design - Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production cells. Collaborate with design engineers to provide input on Design For Manufacturing and Assembly principles for current and future products. Participate in cross-team Failure Mode Effect Analysis to proactively mitigate failure modes in both process and design.

New Equipment Management - Investigate, justify capital expenditure, and purchase new equipment and tooling. Contribute to the definition of the equipment/process technology roadmap for the annual operating plan.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an engineering production support role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to innovate corrective actions/solutions
  • Lean/Six-Sigma certifications, knowledge, application, leadership
  • Effective Project Management skills
  • CAPital Expenditure justification & management
  • Able to formulate execution plans for strategic activities
  • Able to mentor and train technicians
