Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at Hypertherm Associates.

About the Role

This rotational program provides an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or those looking to transition into a manufacturing role. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality products and efficient processes across various machine and assembly platforms.

You will lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma practices to enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Development: Define work methods for production areas and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Safety Procedures: Develop and integrate safety procedures into production processes.
  • Tech Support: Provide daily support to production teams for technical issues.
  • Quality Metrics: Ensure production area processes operate within quality and production metric targets.
  • Tooling Design: Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations for production cells.
  • Equipment Procurement: Participate in the investigation and purchase of new equipment and tooling.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documents used to control the manufacturing process.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in engineering principles, as well as experience in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A BS degree in engineering (IE/ME/MET or equivalent).
  • 1+ internship or coop rotation in a manufacturing/engineering setting.
  • Solidworks or CAD experience.
  • Strong critical analysis skills and the ability to get to the root cause of problems.
Estimated Salary Range:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
