Job Overview

Resolute Tissue, a prominent manufacturer in the tissue products sector, specializing in both virgin and recycled grades, is in search of a skilled and experienced Production Shift Mechanic. Position Highlights

· Primary Responsibilities: The main objective of this role is to diagnose, repair, and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems within a paper converting manufacturing environment to guarantee seamless production and operational efficiency.

· Secondary Responsibilities: Uphold adherence to established safety protocols and mechanical standards. Actively engage in safety initiatives, housekeeping, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications & Experience

· An associate degree in a relevant field or completion of a registered apprenticeship or equivalent training.

· Preferred experience in the industry; specifically in Paper Mill Converting and/or Packaging.

· Strong technical aptitude with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field.

· High School Diploma or GED is required.

Skills & Competencies

· Excellent interpersonal skills combined with leadership and strategic thinking abilities.

· Keen attention to detail.

· Capability to formulate both long-term and short-term strategic improvement plans.

· Proven ability to interpret standard blueprints, machinery, and process schematics.

· Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and other electrical components.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and ensure their timely completion.

· Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, on-call duties, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

· Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities

· Approach all tasks with a commitment to safety.

· Utilize required safety gear at all times.

· Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space regulations.

· Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain paper converting machinery, including rewinding functions.

· Operate a forklift as necessary.

· Comfortable working in a manufacturing and industrial setting.

· Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment and maintain proper documentation.

· Execute grade changes and log saw blade and perf blade modifications.

· Perform general maintenance tasks for the facility.

· Ensure a clean and organized workspace.

· Assist with equipment cleaning and resolving equipment jams as needed.

· Maintain tools in a clean and orderly fashion.

· Work effectively in industrial conditions (e.g., warm/hot, dusty/dirty environments, around chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated surfaces with appropriate training and safety measures).

· Undertake additional duties as assigned.
