Job Overview

Saint Luke's Health System is on the lookout for a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to become a part of our float tier 2 team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), nursing assistant, patient care technician, or those aspiring to enter the nursing assistant field and deliver exceptional patient care. Candidates lacking certification or relevant experience will benefit from a comprehensive 6-week on-the-job training program designed to equip them with the necessary skills for the position. This training will be conducted full-time. You will play a crucial role in enhancing hospital efficiency and patient satisfaction while making a significant impact on the quality of care our patients receive during their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Execute both direct and indirect patient care tasks.
  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care, including bathing, hygiene, nutrition, feeding, hydration, mobility, and positioning.
  • Anticipate and address the needs of patients' families proactively.
  • Tailor and adjust care based on individual patient requirements.
  • Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to enhance patient care delivery.

To excel in this position, strong communication and time management skills are essential. We are looking for Patient Care Assistants who are team-oriented, eager to develop their skills, and possess a keen attention to detail. We are pleased to provide opportunities for both entry-level and experienced CNAs, nursing assistants, and patient care technicians. If you have a passion for patient care but lack experience, our 6-week training program will prepare you to start your role with the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

The starting pay for the Patient Care Assistant position is $17.50 per hour, with additional differentials for night and weekend shifts.

As a Med Surg/Intermediate Float Pool Patient Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple facilities.

Relevant Experience:

Less than 1 year; Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required.
