At Arcadian Infracom, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legislative Assistant to join our team. As a Legislative Assistant, you will provide critical support to our legislative functions, including tracking legislation, supporting local government engagement strategies, and preparing relevant documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track legislation, including bill tracking and reporting, and communicate with stakeholders about hearings and deadlines.
- Analyze legislation and policy, and provide recommendations to our team.
- Engage with coalitions and trade associations to advance our policy goals.
- Prepare position papers, strategic approaches, and briefing materials as directed.
- Draft and send weekly legislative updates to our team.
- Attend legislative hearings and provide summaries as directed.
- Manage calendars, meetings, and travel for our Vice President of Network and Senior Director of Government Relations.
- Oversee day-to-day activities in our Sacramento office, including communication with building management and stocking office supplies as needed.
- Assist with event planning and logistics for onsite and offsite events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' legislative assistant experience.
- Thorough understanding of the California legislative and budget process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize time to meet deadlines.
- Professional writing skills, including knowledge of legislative standards.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Capitol Track TM a plus.
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone, and in writing.
