The Cost Estimation Office is looking for qualified internal candidates to fill several Cost Estimator roles. As a successful applicant, you will engage in hands-on training, manage data proficiently, and enhance the Department's project cost estimation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Delivering technical support and direction to Project Managers, Designers, and Estimators. Evaluating cost estimates to ensure precision and adherence to VDOT's standards.
- Estimating Tools and Systems: Creating and sustaining estimating tools and systems utilized by the agency.
- Training: Facilitating cost estimation training sessions for both internal and external participants.
- Market Trend Analysis: Investigating cost and market trends and communicating insights to relevant stakeholders.
- Estimating Policy Development: Formulating and revising Cost Estimating Policies and Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of transportation laws, regulations, and engineering principles.
- Experience in project management and construction engineering.
- Knowledge of public policy and business practices associated with transportation.

- Flexibility to adapt to organizational requirements.
