SDB is seeking a certified Cost Estimator, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating for private and federal construction projects, preferably in a design-build environment.

As a key project management team member, you will be responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various design-build projects, ranging from initial concept to project completion.

Your expertise will ensure that our projects are financially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with client expectations and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to understand scope and requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify project specifications and address any cost-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor actual costs versus estimated costs and update estimates, as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of estimated and actual project costs.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries to senior management and clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating for construction projects, preferably in a design-build environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software.
