Position Overview:
Provide essential administrative assistance for three university-wide research compliance committees:

  • The Institutional Review Board (IRB) dedicated to safeguarding human subjects in research;
  • The Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC) responsible for evaluating research involving infectious agents, human tissues, blood, or recombinant DNA;
  • The Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee (SCRO).

Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to: managing incoming calls for the aforementioned committees, offering guidance to faculty, Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), medical students, and house staff regarding necessary requirements, procedures, and documentation; liaising with research faculty and staff; and organizing, archiving, and digitizing research-related documents.


Essential Qualifications:


Applicants must be currently enrolled students at Upstate Medical University and possess approval for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office.

This Federal Work Study position is exclusively available to current students of Upstate Medical University who have been approved for and accepted Federal Work Study through the Financial Aid Office.
