Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Program Administrator to join our team in the Central New York Regional Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional administrative support to the Regional Office operations, including researching, monitoring, evaluating, and recommending administrative processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze health-related laws, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Develop and assess annual financial plans to support administrative processes for Regional Office sites.
  • Serve as a Regional Office Liaison for various administrative processes between the Regional Office and Division of Administration staff in Central Office.
  • Develop and review purchasing requisitions, consistent with control agency requirements.
  • Coordinate recruitment activity with the Human Resources Management Group.
  • Function as an office manager for assigned sites, coordinating use of equipment and space planning with the Operations Management Group and the Office of General Services.
Requirements
  • Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator, or Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 or Trainee 2.
  • New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive or 55B/C service in a title eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator, or Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 or Trainee 2.
  • Active list candidate with a reachable score on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list, or qualified 55-B/C candidate in possession of a bachelor's or higher degree.
