Job Summary

Koniag Government Services is seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to support our government customer in Washington DC. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our wastewater pretreatment plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Plant Manager in ensuring the plant runs safely and efficiently
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision of personnel working in the facility
  • Ensure all equipment is well maintained and all material and chemical inventory is properly stocked and handled
  • Conduct quality control and ensure conformance with environmental regulations

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Four (4) years as an assistant plant manager or five (5) years as an industrial wastewater pretreatment plant supervisor
  • Demonstrated capabilities in coordinating work, troubleshooting issues, supervising and managing personnel
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Knowledgeable in Human–Machine Interface (HMI)/ SCADA software
  • Current Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Class III or higher Wastewater Treatment or equivalent certification

Working Environment:

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.

The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
