Nurse Specialist

The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is designed for patients who come to the Emergency Department and may need additional tests, treatment, or observation requiring them to stay longer than a typical emergency department visit.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process.
* Act as a patient advocate.
* Provide support, information, and direct care, utilizing equipment and technology skillfully and being technically competent in nursing procedures.
* Educate patients and families on significant self-care issues.
* Inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
**Requirements:**
* Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency.
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
* NIH Stroke Scale Certification will be obtained during orientation.
**Work Schedule:**
* May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
* Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
* Required to work weekends per unit need.
* Expected to work overtime on occasion.
**Benefits:**
* At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.

**Salary Range:**
$33.00-$52.80 Commensurate with experience
