About the Role

Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is seeking a highly skilled Academic Coordinator + Writing Specialist to join their Student Learning Center team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to make a meaningful impact on the academic success of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentorship and Support: Provide one-on-one guidance and support to at-risk students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
  • Tutoring and Record-Keeping: Manage tutoring records and maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
  • Collaboration with Faculty: Work closely with faculty members to ensure comprehensive support for students, including developing and delivering academic support materials.
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach 4-6 composition courses, both in-person and online, to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Schedule Development: Develop the schedule for LCE (Learning Centers of Excellence designation) and ACTLA online tutoring certification.
  • Academic Support Materials: Create and deliver academic support materials, such as webinars, tip sheets, and other resources, to support student learning.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a Master's degree required.
  • Location: Must live in the Denver greater area.
  • Experience: Proven experience in working with students on English grammar and papers, as well as tutoring techniques and learning assistance programs.
  • Skills: Ability to work with a diverse population of students, plan and organize academic assistance activities, and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Basic MS Office, Adobe Suite, and online learning platforms.
