Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze real estate documents, including leases, REAs, and title reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, such as template REA and anchor lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, and CC&Rs.
  • Manage critical dates and deadlines for anchor projects, ensuring timely completion and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve title and survey issues, and facilitate the issuance of title insurance policies.
  • Provide property-related legal information for due diligence needs in shopping center sales, including preparing due diligence lists and advising asset management on buyer inquiries.
  • Manage documentation for large transactions, coordinate execution and delivery of documents, and prepare transaction summaries.
  • Handle escrow transactions for pad/outparcel/excess land sales, including monitoring and coordinating escrow responsibilities.
  • Prepare and review estoppel certificates, easements, and other simple development-related agreements.
  • Catalog development memos for shopping center malls.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience as a real estate paralegal required, with substantial title and survey expertise preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, iManage, Workshare, and Redline.
