This role entails managing a specific segment within the Auditor-Controller's Office, offering comprehensive second-line oversight to a group of skilled professionals. Key duties include strategizing, coordinating, and supervising the operational unit, mentoring and assessing team members, and executing intricate accounting functions. The position also requires acting as a liaison between the unit and other departments while fostering strong client relations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor professional, technical, and administrative personnel
  • Streamline and assess work procedures to enhance productivity
  • Conduct complex governmental accounting and auditing activities
  • Deliver accounting support and training to County divisions
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and legal requirements

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of professional accounting experience, including supervisory roles
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and financial planning

Work Environment
