Position Overview

American Water is actively seeking a Full-Time Legal Compliance Analyst. This role is designed for individuals with strong organizational and analytical skills who are eager to advance their careers in compliance and ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Compliance and Ethics Department in addressing and resolving inquiries related to the Code of Ethics.
  • Conduct data analysis to evaluate participation and effectiveness of compliance initiatives, including annual training and conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Compliance Director with data management and reporting tasks.
  • Participate in investigations by collaborating with legal counsel, gathering, reviewing, and summarizing pertinent evidence.
  • Generate reports based on data collected from various compliance-related activities.
  • Communicate findings and status updates regarding investigations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and editing of training materials for compliance programs.
  • Assist in various compliance initiatives, including policy updates and monitoring of team communications.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required; experience in the utility sector is preferred.
  • Associate's Degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and data analytics tools, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and draw relevant conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across various departments.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Work Environment

This position is based in an indoor office setting with a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.
