Key Responsibilities- Benefits Program Administration: Ensure the effective administration of our benefit programs, including health, welfare, and retirement benefits, to support a wellness culture and enhance our ability to attract and retain top talent.
- Policy Development and Management: Develop and manage consistent application of policies and practices regarding ERISA self and fully funded health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans, including time off, leave of absence, and recognition policies.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative initiatives and develop business cases for policy and design changes, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Project Management: Manage benefit projects, including new benefit program implementation, plan audits, and Request for Proposals, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Vendor Management: Develop and oversee vendor management strategies, defining requirements, refining and reviewing vendor contracts, and sharing knowledge with the team to ensure vendor relationships and resources align with benefits program needs.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements related to benefit offerings and administration.
- Leadership and Development: Lead the benefits team by identifying developmental opportunities, providing candid and timely feedback, encouraging knowledge sharing, fostering collaboration, and guiding the team through process improvement and change to enhance professional development and team capability.
- Financial Management: Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs and costs, and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in benefits management or a related field.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial responsibility and ability to manage budgeted resources.
- Strategic Partnership: Ability to strategically partner with management and key stakeholders to drive business initiatives.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and develop actions to improve or correct performance.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and external stakeholders.
- Vendor Management: Experience with vendor management, including defining requirements, refining and reviewing vendor contracts, and sharing knowledge with the team.
- US Benefits Laws: Thorough understanding of US benefits laws and government regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws.
- Industry Trends: Knowledge of relevant trends and information within the industry, including medical plan metrics and benchmarking.
- Computer Systems: Familiarity with computer systems and software used in human resources, including automated systems for benefit administration.
