Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager I to provide administrative leadership assistance to the operations of assigned departments within the Geisinger Health System. This role is responsible for business and market development, as well as all regulatory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational accountability and administrative leadership for assigned areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a department liaison with external constituents and participate in management forums to drive business growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, revise, and audit department policies and operational procedures.
  • Develop business plans, including budgets, facilities and capital analyses, market analyses, growth plans, operational contingency plans, and information systems.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and tactical operational plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned areas, including budget development and implementation.
  • Develop and implement activities and tools to educate and focus staff on key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate active engagement and communication with department staff through formal meetings and informal interactions.
  • Handle employee relations activities, including coaching and counseling.
  • Assist with related activities for physician staff.
  • Assess staff and facilitate skill development for all personnel as needed.
  • Lead and monitor annual staff patient safety education.
  • Direct and monitor ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with performance improvement staff.
  • Monitor all incidents and ensure all events are reported immediately.
  • Direct department activities to meet patient access and efficiency goals.
  • Guide outpatient care management activities.
  • Participate on teams designed to improve care.
  • Direct preventative maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds, monitor and maintain interior and exterior cleanliness and aesthetics of facilities, and implement appropriate security measures.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity, including monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years Managerial/Supervisory experience (Required), Minimum of 3 years Healthcare experience (Required)
  • Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the position
