Position Overview:
We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our child welfare program. Our focus is on strengthening families and ensuring child safety and well-being.

Utilizing a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, Family Support Specialists collaborate with parents and their support teams to enhance child safety while empowering parents to provide a secure environment for their children.

Our primary objectives include:

  • Maintaining family unity
  • Facilitating reunification when possible
  • Pursuing alternative permanency options, such as guardianship and adoption, when necessary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging with clients
  • Conducting safety assessments and planning
  • Coordinating case and service plans
  • Facilitating multi-disciplinary family team meetings
  • Conducting home and community visits
  • Supporting placements in out-of-home care
  • Documenting case progress
  • Representing child welfare in legal proceedings

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field that meets child-placing license requirements.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • One year of experience in social services or related fields
  • Experience with economically disadvantaged populations
  • Experience working with diverse families

A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal auto liability insurance are required. Candidates must be able to transport children and complete necessary training related to child safety in vehicles.
